Does fonea take cantonal differences in notary law into account?
Yes. Switzerland has no federal notary law — notarial law is governed at the cantonal level. During setup we distinguish between freelance Latin notary offices (Fribourg, Bern, Vaud, Geneva, Valais, Jura, Ticino) and cantonal-office notariats (Zurich, Schwyz, Basel-Stadt, and others) and tailor responses, fees, and responsibilities to your canton.
Does fonea breach notarial professional confidentiality?
No. fonea provides no legal advice and performs no notarisations. Call data and dossier information are encrypted at rest, subject to your confidentiality obligations as a notary, and contractually secured via DPA. Cantonal supervisory authorities accept digital tools as long as confidentiality is preserved both technically and contractually.
Is fonea FADP and revFADP compliant?
Yes. All persistent client data is hosted in Switzerland (Supabase, infrastructure in Geneva). Transient voice processing (speech-to-text, LLM, text-to-speech) runs on European servers in Germany with DPF or SCC safeguards. Can fonea retrieve status information from our management system?
Yes — provided your system offers an API or data export. We integrate fonea with common Swiss notary management systems and dossier tools. Alternatively, you maintain status fields in the calendar or in a simple Google Sheet — fonea supports both.
What happens with complex enquiries fonea cannot answer?
fonea is deliberately conservative. Whenever a question requires concrete legal advice (succession variants, separation of property, statute wording), fonea captures name, callback number, and concern, and dispatches the task via email, Slack, or Teams to the notary.
Does fonea support French and Italian — important for bilingual cantons?
Yes. fonea understands Swiss German (all dialects), High German, French, Italian, English, and Spanish. In bilingual cantons like Fribourg, Bern, and Valais, as well as in Ticino and Graubünden, this is a noticeable advantage.
How do you prevent incorrect fee information?
